Sat 24 September 5pm-8pm | The 5K Twilight Shift
We are delighted to announce that our brand new event - 'The 5K Twilight Shift' will take place on Saturday 24th September 2022. Will you take on the challenge and raise vital funds for our life-saving charity?
Taking place at Henstridge Airfield, this event will involve people running, jogging, or walking 5K around the airfield, which is the home of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance team.
In what is expected to be a truly memorable afternoon, the event will begin at 5.00pm; this is significant as it is the time when the crew of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance begin the twilight shift and carry on their life-saving work into the night.
Supporters can enter the 5K Twilight Shift as an individual, as a family, or a group. You can take part as a serious runner or simply use it to have fun and exercise on what will hopefully be a beautiful late afternoon in September.
Participants could even wear fancy dress, or for the more experienced 5K challengers, carry extra weight, just like the air ambulance team need to do, when they are attending an incident. Businesses or groups might like to use the 5K Twilight Shift as an opportunity for team building, or in house competitions with friends and colleagues; it really is an event that is open to all.
As this is a charity-run fundraising event, we are encouraging all participants to raise a minimum of £25 through sponsorship.

Mon 26 September - Sat 01 October 7.30 pm | Keeping Our End Up
Keeping Our End Up is a bittersweet comedy, in the style of “Calendar Girls” or “Ladies in Lavender”. The action takes place in a dowdy sports club pavilion in which the very air is tinged with feelings of failure. The ladies bowls team is on a long losing streak and the five team members see themselves as remnants of glories long past. With the season finale approaching and the likelihood of yet another drubbing by their dreaded all-conquering rivals, team captain Ronnie just isn’t very good, Ursula and Fiona have husband troubles, Joan outrageously stirs trouble, and Jan obsessively stirs tea. The women’s problems are instantly recognisable and together this fabulous five make up a microcosm of the world of women. It all brews up into an outline of the very fabric of village life and relationships, with moments of striking honesty, sad revelation and richly comic absurdity.

Architect and TV presenter George Clarke has laid the foundations for his debut live tour – preparing to share stories from a Life In Amazing Architecture both on and off screen as he travels the country.
George Clarke’s Life In Amazing Architecture will visit 19 towns and cities this autumn, including a date at Westlands in Yeovil on Sunday, October 2, giving fans a glimpse behind the scenes of George’s hit TV shows, including The Restoration Man, Amazing Spaces and latest venture Remarkable Renovations.
The live shows will include stunning audio-visual features, as George shares tales from his childhood, how he was inspired to pursue architecture, and how he stumbled into TV – as well as talking audiences through some of the architectural highlights of their local area.

Announcing the tour, George said: “I’m just a storyteller, about people and about buildings. So to be going on tour, to be able to tell my story is amazing. I’m looking forward to doing 20 nights around the country, to meeting lots of people, having a bit of fun and enjoying that month on the road.
“I already felt like the luckiest boy in the world to do architecture, but to travel the country talking about architecture and my life – it’s off the scale amazing.”
