Join us for a summer’s evening of the best of British choral music in the stunning setting of Sherborne Abbey. With music from the sixteenth century to the present day, there's something for everyone.
Our programme includes Vaughan Williams’ stunning Serenade to Music, Finzi Lo, the full final sacrifice, Elgar's grand anthem Give unto the Lord, and Howells' wonderful Collegium Regale setting of the Te Deum. We also mark the centenary of Stanford with his lovely motet Beati quorum via, and music by Byrd, James MacMillan, John Ireland, Jonathan Dove and John Dowland complete a great evening of choral music.

Seventeen music courses for adult instrumentalists, singers, conductors and composers. Thirty international tutors and teachers and thirty professional and student concerts.
The bedrock of our courses is choral music and vocal masterclasses, conducting (Sherborne Summer School is internationally recognised "as one of the foremost summer programmes for training conductors"), composition, piano and piano accompaniment, jazz and orchestras.
Whether you are looking to play a Beethoven Symphony, sing a Puccini Mass or try your hand at jazz improvisation, you will find them all available at Sherborne Summer School. The courses are spread over two weeks; two weeks where you move out of the real world and immerse yourself in the sheer pleasure of making music and socialisinfg with other like minded people.
The summer school is held at Sherborne Boys School and concerts are given in Sherborne School, Cheap Street Church and Sherborne Abbey. Our concerts series, Concertfest, is open to all members of the public the programme for which will be published in July.
