The Yetminster Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Wessex and has been running almost continuously since the 13th Century under a charter granted to the Bishop of Salisbury for a fair “to be held in his manor of Yetminster”.
The lively atmosphere of Fair Day in the village calendar adds to the charm of the old stone farm houses and manors evoking memories of a bygone age and attracts people from far and wide.
It is normally held on the 2nd Saturday of July and there are a myriad of stalls along the High Street with great entertainment for all ages in the main arena outside the White Hart.
This years fair has everything from local Morris Dancers, Irish Dancers, Steel bands and a Ukulele band to many stalls, plays, poetry, circus workshops, exhibitions, food and drink - ending in live music in the pub at 8.30pm - 10.30pm
