A weekend of music.
17 November 2017 - 18 November 2017
The Grange at Oborne
Friday night we have a recital None but the Lonely Heart performed by the stunning Latvian baritone Pauls Putnins accompanied by Diana Ketler, Professor of Piano at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
A recital of Russian songs of love, romance, heartbreak and dances with death. Including some Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninov, Borodin and Sviridov.
Saturday night is a different affair Songs of the Great War.
There will be vintage treasures, singalongs and surprises, art songs and popular songs that never went away. All beautifully sung by this remarkable singer – who will also entertain us with her stories and fantastic knowledge of music from the era.
Performed by internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Patricia Hammond. Accompanied by Matt Redman, who plays a host of instruments from piano to banjo to slide guitar.
