An illustrated talk in aid of the Friends of Holnest Church.

Patron of the Friends, Adrian Tinniswood OBE, will uncover the truth about a world half-forgotten, draped in myth and hidden behind stiff upper lips and film-star smiles. Drawing on the eye-witness testimonies of belted earls, unhappy heiresses and bullying butlers, he gives a voice to the people who inhabited the world of the English country house, both above and below stairs.

Adrian is the author of fourteen books on social and architectural history. His most recent being, "The Long Weekend", was a Sunday Times bestseller, a New York Times bestseller and a Daily Telegraph Book of the Year.
