Sherborne In Bloom is part of the prestigious Britain In Bloom competition where we showcase our town to be judged alongside many other towns, villages and cities
throughout the United Kingdom. Last year we did really well, winning the Gold award for ‘Best Small Town‘ in South West In Bloom, as well as being awarded three more cups for other categories.
The Britain in Bloom competition is open to all sizes of community from small parishes to big cities. Certainly here in Sherborne, the impetus created from being associated with this event has generated some truly terrific community projects that benefit many people in the town. Anyone, including surrounding parishes in the Sherborne area, who would like to know about getting involved should see http://sherborneinbloom.com
REMEMBER! Being a Gold winner of South West in Bloom means there is a chance that this year Sherborne could be chosen to enter the annual ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition to become the best small town in Britain.
Can you garden, or would you like to learn? Then why not volunteer to help look after one of the adopt-a-plots near you? Willing hands are urgently needed to bring
our plots up to scratch.
Can you help by giving your time, for example, to distribute posters around the town, or muck in and help with any number of admin tasks?
Or would you rather muck in by giving money? Sponsors are required for a number of high-visibility projects that will contribute to Sherborne’s ‘In Bloom’ entry.
Every penny of your contribution will help us present the town in the best possible light when the Royal Horticultural Society judges come to visit the town.
Please volunteer whatever and however you can.
