The Sherborne Market on 21st June 2020.

02 June 2020

On behalf of The Sherborne Market

Dear all,

It is with great happiness and relief that we are putting on The Sherborne Market on 21st June 2020. A year since the first one.

The market will be scaled back and there will be distancing between stalls. The road closure will be in place along Cheap Street and Half Moon street from 7.30 a.m until 4 p.m. We have engaged Events Crew to man the road closure and have assigned two security people to the Abbey to ensure no one is inconvenienced by the market. All traders have been asked to take their rubbish but the security staff will double check all areas.

We would very much like any shops in town to have a FREE stall outside their business to engage with the public and chat with them about their business and how it has evolved and what services they can now offer. Please contact Jules to reserve your space asap via email [email protected] otherwise it may be assigned to a stall holder.

The stalls will be more spaced out than the last market and we need to recruit a number of volunteers to be social distancing marshals just reminding people politely about spacing, they may have placards to politely remind people but they can also act as info points. Please contact Jules if you are able to volunteer, it only needs to be for a couple of hours not the whole day.

The stall holders will be asked to marshal their own queues appropriately and remind people about social distancing.

We are very aware that people need to start trading again and do hope the market day will provide a step to normality while being a lovely, well managed and controlled day out. Please if you do have any concerns contact us.

Our Facebook and Instagram pages are The Sherborne Market

Best regards

Jules
