Summary:	The impressive and beautiful Abbey, as seen today, is a marvel to past generations and was once the capital of Wessex, with two Saxon Kings buried within. The Abbey is open until 6pm in the Summer and 4pm in the winter. From June to September there are guided tours every Tuesday and Friday. There is wheel chair access and for those using hearing aids there is a loop system. The Abbey's splendid accoustics mean it is regularily used as a concert venue.
